its probably noisey because its got trapped air bubbles in it, try turning it upside down and moving it around in the water.

Of yeah, is there any way of knowing whether your water has chloramine in it? My dechlorinator has different dosages in it depending on whether it does. I've only dosed for chlorine, not chloramine. Is it better to be safe than sorry and put the extra dose in for chloramine?
