Honestly Iāll probably ditch the Badis in general but I figured if I stumbled across one I just HAD to have that I would want to be able to take care of it properly

Sorry to bring this discussion back up but would it be alright to maybe replace the cherry barbs with some guppies? I dunno about fin nipping or their compatibility but I just figured Iād ask.

We do that sometimes... lolYour water was said to be fairly soft, so that leaves out any livebearers that must have moderately hard or harder water.
Edit, eagles posted as I was typing, same answer.
Wood does not increase hardness, if it does anything it will lower it. You need a source of calcium carbonate to increase hardness eg coral or limestone; or an additive such as Rift Lake salts.Doesnāt driftwood naturally increase the hardness?
