I've been feeding my fish zucchini but no cucumber, because my local store said it has little nutritional value for freshwater tropicals. I've read a lot of postings in these forums about cucumber, so it's obviously pretty commonly used. What are your opinions on the benefits of one vs. the other?

Also, my lfs told me to not freeze the zucchini first, but some of you are doing that. It would be much easier to slice one up and keep pieces in the freezer until needed. Have I been misinformed?

There's nothing wrong with freezing zucchini and storing it like that. Actually freezing makes it softer and easier for the fish to eat. I've never used cucumber but I've heard both are perfectly fine. :)

I thought Zucchini is a smaller version of cucumer. Is this right?

zucchini are like a little tiny baby marrow....whereas cucumbers are ummmmm cucumbers :D

I've found that zucchini are not as juicy and don't foul the tank as quickly as the cucumbers do.....now I only leave them in the tank overnight so it's not a problem.
