Do you still own your first fish? I mean, is it still alive?
I sold mine. I dunno if its aliove, or where it is.

i guess i still own my first fish, cuz the 10g tank i got was given to me by my gf who didn't want it anymore. there were 5 neon tetras, 2 zebra danios and a bala shark who died either due to the move, the fact that he jumped out of a bucket when her mom was cleaning the tank, or the simple fact that it was just too damn big for the tank. lol. i think one neon died as well... but the rest are still alive and happy :)

my first fish was a goldfish from the fair... i don't think he was supposed to live.. LOL but man did i cry when he did die... now fish come and go... the last tank that was up and running in this house was our cichlid tank and when my ex fiance was doing a water change our cat tipped a whole gallon bottle of amquel+ into it and my ex couldn't get the fish into fresh water quick enough so they would survive... we still have a betta though... he was sick a little while back but now he's better with some treatment and some tlc and happier than ever.. i miss all my fish... i still go to the fish store and look around at all the fish... specially my fav.. clown loaches... i'll have some again someday

Believe it or not, the majority of my first fw fish purchases are still alive:

1) three white skirt tetras
2) red gourami
3) 2 Boesemani rainbowfish

My first fish were Platys....15 years ago. They are long since deceased....BUT I do still have some of their great great grandchildren and hopefully always will.

i,ve still got the 5 neon tetras that i got in july with my first tank, which i didn't cycle properly so i must be very lucky with them lol :D

my first fish was a goldfish, annie (named after the character?? :*) ) my parents bought her for me when i was about 8 she lived for a few years quite happily with my brother's fish winston (named after the ghostbuster.. ) and sadly she died, i cried my eyes out, i even remember my dad marching her outside (in a yoghurt pot) to bury her with me and my brother following in a line behind.. dad was dumming the funeral march.. :-(

My first fish was also a goldfish from the fair, though not a won one, when I was young the fair near us was not very nice, when they went to move they threw their goldfish down rabbit holes (I heard it was cheaper to buy new ones than transport them) so one year I went armed with a bag filled with water and found a couple still alive, they lived for years; they are dead now (due to a fishing cat of mine) but when they died they weren't around to eat their own eggs so we got the next generation of goldfish, their kin are still in my parents pond.

My first fish were swordtails in 1969 or 1970, I'm sure they are long gone.

A fairground goldfish in Ninteen seventy somthing called Jaws that outgrew it's bowl, then outgrew it's tank and was given to a friend to put in his pond. It was still alive 15 years later, but then I moved away and lost contact.

I voted on yes because my first fish were 4 black tetras in a 10g tank for a school project and it turned into all the fish and tanks you see in my sig, and this was only about 2 or 3 years ago. Although one of them died after the project because of pop eye. But the other three are still alive and are now in my long 20g.

Scratch the gourami.....bit the dust yesterday. I cursed him by posting here. SH

Guppys and sad to say no they didn't last long, gave up on livebearers, still like them as they are active fish, but they are just not healthy around my area.
