I don't know if this story is true (can anyone verify?)...A conservation group saved a seal from an oil spill. They cleaned him up and rehabbed him until he was well enough to be released to the wild. They had a major ceremony on shore, celebrating the seal's release. A few minutes into the ocean, the seal was grabbed and consequently eaten by a great white shark, right infront of the spectators. Million dollar's worth of conservation efforts down the drain![]()
The Japaense fisherman trying to save a whale wasn't ironic, just tragic. If he were a whaler, then it would have been ironic and fitting.
maybe a fireman dying trying to start a bbq. somthing like that
I work with firefighters and they've come close to burning themselves and the station several times while barbequeing (if that's a word) or even trying to cook a pizza in the oven. Just because they're firefighters doesn't mean they are the brightest bulb in the pack. maybe a fireman dying trying to start a bbq. somthing like that

Sorry to be off subject, but that caught me as funny.
And yes, I can see the irony and humor in a fisherman being killed trying to save a creature of the ocean.
