You Really Shouldn't Laugh!

Nature's funny that way :/

I don't know if this story is true (can anyone verify?)...A conservation group saved a seal from an oil spill. They cleaned him up and rehabbed him until he was well enough to be released to the wild. They had a major ceremony on shore, celebrating the seal's release. A few minutes into the ocean, the seal was grabbed and consequently eaten by a great white shark, right infront of the spectators. Million dollar's worth of conservation efforts down the drain

Old urban myth as far as I know. I've seen it disproven before.

The Japaense fisherman trying to save a whale wasn't ironic, just tragic. If he were a whaler, then it would have been ironic and fitting.

lol true it is a matter of opinion. but perhaps you should say that! making statments of fact as you did, is incorrect. it all depent on how you view it. if you knew the boats from that port had and were involved in the slaughter of dolphins, would that change your mind?

i feel it may be worth looking at reports of humans saved and protected by dolphins, which is not a urban legend, as far as i can tell. do dolphins discriminate agains east asian people? could it be that the marine mammels, we already know thay are of high intelegence, are aware of just who is likley to be in a boat, that may be near them? and act accordingly?

maybe a fireman dying trying to start a bbq. somthing like that

 I work with firefighters and they've come close to burning themselves and the station several times while barbequeing (if that's a word) or even trying to cook a pizza in the oven. Just because they're firefighters doesn't mean they are the brightest bulb in the pack.

Sorry to be off subject, but that caught me as funny.

And yes, I can see the irony and humor in a fisherman being killed trying to save a creature of the ocean.

dolphins saving humans... there are many stories of dolphins attacking humans as well so don't get all excited when you see one next to you with nobody else in sight...
