Hatching your eggs,
1. Get a large tupperware tub and clean it well. Once really clean fill it half full of the original tank water.
2. Place in your airstone with filter floss wrapped around the airstone. this can be held in position by a rubberband.
3. Place in 3 large pond snails into the tub. they will eat any dead eggs and any spare food. The snalis will only touch the dead eggs and leave the live eggs alone.
4. collect the eggs and place them in the tub. you can use filter floss to do this as it is soft and clean.
5. Float the tub in the tank as this will keep the temp the same as the tank without any problems.
6. Use a turky baster to do water changes several times a day. or on a frequent basis.
7. once hatched the fry will have their yoke sacks for around 3 days.
8. After they are free swimming you can feed them micro worms which they love and a very small amount of finely crushed flake. I fed them very small amounts several times a day. The snails help clean up the extra food. I did frequent water changes on the tank the adults were in so I could use that water for the water changes in the tub. I would also use that water to set up a tank for the free swimming fry once they reach that stage.
