this is just a quickie post... so I went to the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association fish auction yesterday and impulse bought a trio of X. captivus for my 60g ("oo, green livebearers...")

then i found out that they need hard water :X

so i've got them in my emptied 20g with some specialty convict cichlids that i'm growing out... they're really cool little fish, but in about 3-4 months there's going to be complications.

so, if anybody would be interested in a trio of Green Goodieds for Christmas, let me know and i'll see what we can work out.

Darn you in Alabama! If you were closer, I would totally come get them. :(

Good luck finding them a home, I'm sure they'll make someone very happy. :good:

heck, you want them--i'll mail them. i won't even need a heat pack if i do it in the next month or so. guy that i bought them from was keeping them at ~72F in 8.1 pH. i'd like to at least get the postage back, but other than that you can have them.

but give me a few weeks. they're too cute to just get rid of immediately :p plus, i want to see if i can't get them to turn green. (they're more of an olive color atm)

I couldn't take them for at least another month or so, since I'm moving, and then I won't be home for a while after that. :X

Feel free to give them to someone else. If they're still available in a couple of months, maybe we could work something out with a heat pack. And I'd definitely pay you back for shipping, no problem! I'd pay for the fish too, you don't have to give them to me! :)

sounds pretty good to me! i'll probably bring the topic back up later, but as far as i'm concerned the goodieds are yours when you want them. if you like, i can even contact the guy i got them from to get you some more.

Pica, you're so sweet. If you get an offer from someone else, I'd urge you to take it. It's fine by me, I'll probably take a while to get set up in the new place, and get a tank ready for them. Maybe too long for you to wait. :X Anyway, I'll PM you in a few weeks with an update on what's going on, okay? :) Provided they haven't sold.

Xenoophorus Captivus i used to have loads of these fish, but with leaving home and marrige and stuff, i no just 2 people who have them in the uk.

There was 1 pair at the BLA auction a few weeks back.

These fish need to be in groups of 6 fish to breed happily any less than that and you'll be lucky to get them started.

Coure a trio is way better than none!!!

Helter.

Also dwarfgourami i know someone in southampton how dose have them, I'll try to see if any are spair.
