Wow This Is Wow....

Lol, arnt we all getting a little bored of these subjects? Yes theres hundreds of cruel ways to keep all sorts of pets nowadays, just dont shop in crappy stores :)

Very. Very bored. Well said SJ2K. :good:

You and others may well be bored  but when things like this do crop up on these forums the reactions from the less bored may just stop a novice/newbe from buying one and trying to cram 6 fish in it just 'cos it says you can.

I find Coronation St./Eastenders boring so I don't watch them.....if you find these sort of threads boring why follow them?

Anyways, each to their own so lets leave it at that

Well said, put me back in my place :) Hope somone learns from this.

Because if those that know these things are not the spawn of the devil and can make very good tanks did ignore these threads then those that react without any thinking or knowledge (such as the post after my previous one) will be considered the voice of authority on subjects such as the sale of small tanks.

These threads do get tiresome, but more because of an attitude that seems to develop. Many people join the forum as newbies and start learning. Then they realise they know more than the newer people, and start to think they know more than the general public because adverts and lfs staff do not agree with their somewhat diluted views on keeping fish (this forum is somewhat conservative with stocking sizes compared to many out there, to give but one example of how the real world can differ from TFF world). When these members find the real world doesn't agree with their thoughts they start threads like this bashing the entire concept.

If this thread had been more like "I don't agree with the way they have just worded '6 fish' and have an image of what appears to be goldfish" then I would have no problems, but trying to have a go at a tank and suggesting we should smash them just because it is 2.4 gallons seems a little foolish. While not being a dig at anyone in this thread in particular, I have noticed that this forum seems to create many "experts" at keeping fish who value the information of strangers they have never met on a forum over people in the real world, or books by experts whose credibility rests with the advice they give. I find that a strange notion, if somewhat intriguing when viewed from a different angle.

Wow. The sickest part is the price, what a rip. I must be in the wrong line of work. I got a bunch of mostly used junk & set up a 150 gallon tub outdoors for about that price.

I have a bunch of 2.5 gallon tanks, great hatchers, work fine for quaring small fish. The tank itself is fine if properly stocked, the price is nuts.

A clever reply but lets not forget that this is a fun place too and that it was entered into the 'Discussion' forum.

My point was that if someone is 'bored' with yet another bad or badly described tank he has a right to have an opinion but does it hold value here?

IMO, any tank that tries to be something like a Toilet, picture frame, coffee table or a bookshelf ornament etc etc needs to be smashed up whether it is a 1 or 1000 gallon capacity.

As far as trusting a stranger on these forums over people in the real world, that's the internet for you

Anyway, lets end this as friendly stangers, friend

WHY IS THIS ALLOWED?? I cant believe its legal to torture fish like this!!

tbh... its not that bad.

ADFs, bumblebee gobies, shrimp, otos, bettas, a dwarf puffer........ if you choose the right fish, then it's fine. :good:

Maybe so in your opinion but not in mine. I believe that if we are going to keep fish in a limited environment ( and no matter how big your tank is it is still limited) then its our duty to make that place as good and as natural as possible in the best interests of the fish. Apart from the fact that there is a bright overhead light and no plants if you think 4 inches deep is acceptable for any fish then you are mad!

Why? A tank generally is there as decoration (or at least, play a part in it) whether it's that sort or not. Some are more practical than others, maybe, but it still boils down to the fact that a glass/plastic box for keeping fish in is a glass/plastic bow for keping fish in whether it's a 'coffee table', Juwel aquarium, or a plastic storage box with water in.

So put some plants in there? lol

it's plenty big enough. take bbgs. the tank is 4x the depth of the fish. plenty big enough imo. :good:

If I lacked space, I would deffo buy one and plant it out with a few shrimps. Just the movement of the plants in the water would be as relaxing as watching fish. :) (I personally wouldn't put any fish in it though.)
