1 tiger oscar, 1 jaguar cihlid, 1 green terror and 1 pleco. internal fliter from juwel 260 also with a tetratec sx 700 (designed for 250 litres). thanks.

I wouldn't say so. From what I've heard, the jag, once bigger is likely to kill. I'd say the GT is a 50/50 chance of working or not whether it'll dominate the oscar. They each get to around 12" though, so you'd need a larger tank for them all together.. it'll be a bit cramped in a 260ltr tank once they're fully grown.

not really no.....i have these in a 150 gallon tank and already thinking of upgrading for there size...
i think in a small tank a jag would be inclined to own it also there oscar and prob the gt
whats the l/w/d of tank

you think my dimensions are ok for a oscar, jd, gt and a pleco then? i do like jd's, but the patterns on the jag are so striking and i really wanted something to be able to handle the gt. i'm not sure if jd would be able to handle the gt. i know they are supposedly quite pugnatious though :)

i guess the jag is just far too aggressive. perhaps a texas as i have heard of the similar colouring but i dunno about the size and agressivenes of them. thanks

btw using the inch per gallon guide (at full size): it works out to about 48 inches for 68 us galoons. i have the filtration for it. hopefully it should be ok.

Liar, you dont have a Juwel 260.. :p

How big is big?
The minimum common opinion for a single Oscar is in the range of sixty to seventy gallons. A tank with a depth of 18? is a good idea, since most adults will grow longer then the depth of a typical 12? tank, which limits the Oscar to a very two-dimensional world. Instead of going with the 55g four foot tank, perhaps it?s worth looking at the 60g three foot tank, which has the depth we?re looking for. Better still, why not just do it right the first time and go for the 48?x18? tank and get the best of both. Height is not really important (within reason), but remember that water volume is always a good thing.

For a pair of Oscars the 48?x18? works well, and with enough space to keep it a 24? depth would have the added bonus of space and volume, and make for an impressive display. For a group of Oscars we are now looking at over 240 gallons or ponds.

this is from the oscar sticky thread. i think that my tank is big enough for 1 oscar according to this. yeah some people say that an oscar will need a 75 gal, but i feel that you can only try and test something before you can say it won't work. fish can't talk so you can never really know 100%. in a 68 gal i think my oscar will be ok :)

the dimensions are 48 inches w x 24 inches h x 18 inches front to back.

nice tank

ah ok lol. my maths are bad. i think i might not get the jag as you guys have concerns over the fact it might not be compatible. definately hopeful of the oscar and green terror. jd is a maybe and perhaps a pair of convicts. if i decide on no convicts and a jd then would some silver dollars be ok? i think some dipher fish would be quite nice :)

what are red hooks bud? just tried searching for them on tropical fish 4 u and nothing :( oh btw thanks for being so helpful :)
