I'm thinking of using a plastic soda bottle for a cave. Then covering it with gravel. It's a 1 liter. I'll remove the label too.

Getting it to stay submerged may be a problem. Also if ya give it ago make sure you smooth all the edges off so the fish cant scape them selves on it.

Coconut shells work better IMHO.

Black platic guttering worked for me, I also melted parts of the top part so that cory's and other fish can swim into it and then used aquatic sealant and stuck some java moss and pebbles onto the top to make it look more natural.

gutering as mentioned or whatever size plastic pipe you require, spread aqurium sealent all over it get the same gravell thats in your tank.make sure its clean and dry, spread the gravell evenly on paper then roll the pipe or guttering over the gravell while sealent is still wet,and it will completely cover it and also helps it to stay on the bottom of your tank due to the extra weight of the gravell, also leave it to dry fo 24hrs bfore placing in tank

what alotof people do is get flowerpots<forgot the name durr...the orange ones......or you can get cylicone/glue from fish shop and glue large pebbles around a plastic bottle....some people hide pipes under gravel like drain pipe corners....from hardware store...

I guess it wont work because he turn into rust and ur fish may injure there self if its sharp.

Someone mentioned melting edges. I'd do that with bottles. But wouldn't wirering pipe or drain pipe work better?
You'd need an awful lot of gravel to keep it covered You'll probably need small rocks either side to support it.

You'll have to send pictures in when you're done.

You'll have to wait for my father to come back (1 month). And it's a 1 liter. It's not a 2 liter pepsi bottle. So, it's not that big. And it looks great!
