Would Appreciate Some Advice :)

thank you for the advice :)
have been asking around and am trying to get something from an established tank.
have a few fish stores to visit tomorrow as well, so can ask if they sell anything also.

i was wondering, there is a shop called cheshire-waterlife that is quite near me,
it says there that they acclimatise all the fish to the same water PH etc etc so that it is easier for a new owner,
do i want to steer clear of buying from there because their method of acclimatisation might have already stressed the fish?
or is that something most shops do just dont advertise and use as a selling point ;) they are an expensive place to buy fish, however when i was last there, the tanks looked rather grubby IMO so i think im best steering clear. but other than that, there's only really pets at home (i dont drive you see, so any fish shop needs to be within walking distance of a bus. lol) i think id rather go to pets at home where the tanks are clean if you know what i mean. also had healthy goldfish from there so...

hi steph . just going to copy and paste this sentence from your post rathe than quote the whole thing.

"it says there that they acclimatise all the fish to the same water PH etc etc so that it is easier for a new owner,"

all their tanks will be the same ph etc as they will all have the local water in them ( ie your local water) so basicly it sounds to me like what you may call sales patter. they are taking the fact that all their fish are kept in the same water paramaters and dressing it up to be some kind of special treatment . things like this are pretty common with lfs. ignore all of that and just concentrate on wether the fish appear healthy or not.

as for pets at home , well there are many divided opinionms about them on here , and it would seem that some branches are better than others. my local pets at home i have to admit their tanks are very clean , abd their fish look healthy , but their advice absolutely stinks.

i would go with the shop that has the best healthiest fish myself .

ps excuse the dodgy spelling as ive had a few beers
