Worried About Tiny Snalis

Hey, i have just noticed three tiny 0.5 centimetre snails in my tank. Just wondering whether this could be a problem, whether i should remove them e.t.c, thanks in advance, Alex

Could be a problem if you get over-run but I've had the same thing in my Betta tank for the last few months and it hasn't got out of hand. I could probably count 5 tiny ones at any one time but that's it.

You could fish them out though, I did with my 60L and have seen none in there for about 8 months now so I guess I won lol.

They are rarely a problem, unless you overfeed.

As above, those with infestations always have an underlying problem such as uneaten food or decaying plants etc, and these problems are over looked and snails are instantly seen as the ultimate bad thing in an aquarium.

My opinion is, leave them be, they're your best friends, they'll eat algae.

Ok, i will probably leave them be then and let my cory's and shrimps get on with eating the leftover food!!

i have heard (whether true or no)if you crush up a few of the snails the cory's will eay the snails that are in the tank as part of their diet
