Hey all,
Ok first off i am a newbie but this will be my new tank so i know all about cycling and i dont plan to add all of these fish at once or anything crazy like that. ok anyway i am getting a FREE 50 gallon tank saturday and have spent a long time thinking about what to get. I have a list but i want to make my tank freshwater with sand substrate and plenty of plant and malaysian driftwood. I want to make sure my tank stays peaceful and "exotic" looking. Please add any advice or suggestion or insults or comments on my list of fish.
will these work together?
6+ glass catfish
6+ boesmani rainbowfish or some type of rainbowfish
pair of german blue ram cichlids
butterfly fish
bristlenose pleco
moolight gourami
DISUCS FISH (when i can afford a few)
Ottos or cories (love them both)
amano shrimp (not sure if these will be compatible with some of these fish but what the heck, i like em)
please alert me of any problems you forsee as i dont want to be the cause of any fishes death! Thank you
Good luck with your first set-upThanks popov...i dont know but i am guessing you are referring to the cheap vodka popov....brings back memories of high school

Be carful with the butterfly fish as they do eat smaller fish. They probably wont bother anything in the middle or bottom area of your tank. But all the top swimming fish I.E. guppies, could be in trouble. From my experience they have only eatin fry and small fish. But if you decide to get one use the rule of thumb, "Anything that can fit in its mouth could possibly be lunch." Other than that, looks like a good list. I see the discus have allready been spoken onGood luck with your first set-up
