Will Platys Eat My Plants

Hi,
I am looking for some surface dwelling fish and was looking at maybe getting some Platys, but I am worried about my plants. Do Platys tend to eat plants or do they tend to leave alone and just graze on the algae. I would hate to ruin my planted tank due to oe species of fish.

I was under the immpression that they didnt, but my platies do nip at the plants, and some plants seem to take a worse hit than others. I have some lovely unidentified two-tone leaf plants and they shred them totally, but the cabomba that Im not too keen on they seem to leave alone!

I only have a few plants though, its not heavily planted, so with so many plants there may not be enough damage to be noticable.

They don't eat the plants, but they'll nip at the algae and organisms on the plants.
