these babies are truely stunning angelfish. ive added a group of 4 to my Leopoldi angels, i would have got more but they were not the cheapest fish
they are not true altum angelfish and are a scalare species that are traded as Peru 'altum'. they are the closest angelfish to the altum and will hopefully be much much easier to care for. the red spotted part of the name is due to the spots on the side of the fish that do fade when taken from the wild and introduced into a home aquarium in a similar fashion to the 'tefe' discus. they can still be seen but are faint.
they have been out of the wild for a couple of months at least with no issues so i added straight into my tank. so far so good
