these babies are truely stunning angelfish. ive added a group of 4 to my Leopoldi angels, i would have got more but they were not the cheapest fish

they are not true altum angelfish and are a scalare species that are traded as Peru 'altum'. they are the closest angelfish to the altum and will hopefully be much much easier to care for. the red spotted part of the name is due to the spots on the side of the fish that do fade when taken from the wild and introduced into a home aquarium in a similar fashion to the 'tefe' discus. they can still be seen but are faint.

they have been out of the wild for a couple of months at least with no issues so i added straight into my tank. so far so good :good:

ill get some pics up as soon as they have settled and the light are on later :)

ok for you impatient people :grr: they seem to have settled in quite well. here are a few pics taken on my phone so not ideal but you get the idea....

Said I was waiting!

Body shape certainly is altum-esque.

they are stunning and certainly look more altum than scalare to me which i think is the reason i fell for them. the next best thing i guess.... just wish i could have had them all

found this site that kind of explains these fish a bit....
