Hi, I rescued two very large pleco's about a month ago, they were in very poor condition but now looking ok. I treated them with sterazine and melafix as advised. But this morning I have gone to do a water change and found some transparent wiggling hair like things by the filter (about 5), ranging from a couple of mm long to about 1.5 cm. The fish themselves seem ok, no flicking and eating fine and gaining weight. I am presuming these hair like creatures are some sort of worm, should I treat with sterazine again? There is no gravel in the tank and I net all waste and change the food daily.

I am feeding them jmc pelets, and fresh veg (they love potato).

Any advice welcome.
Thanks

Hi thank you very much for that link. Overfeeding! I think that is the problem I have had a job to get these fish to feed so have been adding extra stuff. Will give the tank a good clean out and cut down on their food now they are better.

Thanks for your help :good:

Glad you found the problem.
