Im always fancinated about the hierachy of tanks and how it can all change in the blink of an eye. As my angels are all pairing off and spawning now there was always one called Alexander who paired off with my other koi angel (called Lucy)and was very aggressive to the other angels.
He was the largest of them all and the others just kept out of his way, then another male called Wallace suddenly took a growth spurt, his fins became very impressive and he paired off with my spotted colour angel (called Lacota).....now since Wallace and Lacota have started spawning Wallace is now the undisputed DADDY of the tank.....its good to see Alexander getting put in his place.....here are some pictures.

'Fall from grace'......Alexander and Lucy ....a good looking couple, she has stayed with Alexander despite him not being top dog which I find quite romantic.

The Daddy!....Wallace. He isnt blacked up in this picture but when his stripes black up he is stunning!

Lacota.....Wallace's woman, I love her markings and home to keep and raise their next spawn

This is young Artorius....he is a stunning fish but he is only small, it will be interesting to see where he fits in to the hierachy when he gets bigger

....and finally Alfie....I think he is gay...

My 'daddy'of the tank is a female Dwarf Gourami...

my male dwarf gourami,TED,rules my tank, esp when the breeding net is in with fry in it,no one can get close  .

....and finally Alfie....I think he is gay...

Alfie just hasn't found the right man. He's a pretty fish. But Wallace takes the cake, he's gorgeous! I love angelfish with the natural coloring, very beautiful.

In my 10g, the male croaking gouramis rules. Now the 15g is a lovefest, there just isn't any agression. Wimps.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing
"who's the Daddy of my tank" would be my pleco he's about 1 inch long, but barges past the rest of the fish to hoover up in the tank ( he's so house proud) LOL

Alfie just hasn't found the right man

To be honest i had Alexander in another tank for a while and Alfie did pair with Lucy the other marble angel and spawned but when Alexander was returned to the tank it was all very tense and Lucy and Alexander paired up again leaving Alfie on his own (sdo he's not really gay).....its better to have loved and lost than not to have loved atall i suppose.

Im hoping wee Artorious is going to be femal then Alfie might get a mate....he is just so soft, even the females kick his ass. I do feel a bit sorry for him, especially since I got him the size of a penny along with Wallace......Wallace has become a Don and poor Alfie isnt even looking like he'll be a 'made man'.

My bristlenose is the daddy. At 2-and-a-half inches, he's the biggest fish; all the rest are still tiny.

My bristlenose is the daddy.

I have two bristlenose and if I put cucumber, apple or pear in the tank nobody bothers them....they are pretty hard fish!

Here is a better picture of Wallace....more blacked up

well the undisputed 'daddy' of my tank is my krib although there was a time when my dwarf gourami was 'daddy' before i got the krib but i used to have an rtbs and he was a vicous 'daddy' he used to savage everything i bought the krib and he battered the krib so i rehomed him and the krib became the new 'daddy' but my dwarf gourami still has a go here and there but hes getting old so hes not as tough as he used to be

My female jewel cichlid...what a livid b*tch! She lets the male know when it's time to spawn. Then when they do have fry she gobbles them all up like it's thanksgiving day!

My big opaline Geronimo
Hes such a thug Im thinking of applying for an ASBO to be served on him
