Who Are These Guys?

Hello, I was in my lfs today and found some cories I have never seen before. The owner told me they were sold as decker cories but I looked them up and they don't seem to fit the description. I was thinking about c. loxozonus. Can anyobody confirm this? Sorry for the hazy and not so clear pics, but I think they are suitable enough for an identification.

Here is another pic of them: It is not sharp but you can see clearly the lines and that they consist of individual dots.

At a first glance, the word Skunk comes to mind..... just not sure which..... Maybe Corydoras Schwartzi

Hi Ludwig, close but I think it is not the one. It doesn't show very clearly in the pictures but the dorsal fin is black too, and schwartzi's don't have that. Another distinct feature is the fact that the line closest to the back is thicker than the other ones.

looks like the corydora arcuatus "broken stripe" on page68 of the "all Corydoras" book, i.e. with skunk line then 2 dotted lines below.

does dorsal fin color matter/mean it's a different species? Of my 6 "large spot" panda corys...some have black dorsal fin, some clear.

I may or may not be right but those look strikingly similar to the Lozo corys I once had.

Yes Hugh, I also thought them to resemble loxozonus most... unless somebody comes up with another identification.

Possibly axelrodi or deckeri cory - trouble is there is so many corys with very similar markings,can you get a clearer pic?

|Yes, that is my guess. When I looked them up at planet catfish, this is what they resembled most. Loxos have the eye band, the black dorsal fin and the 3 dot stripe pattern.

Harlequins is right, their are way to many similar corys that look similar. My Guess is lozo, I am looking around for my picture of them. Either way they are some nice fish you have their.

Ok, I managed to get a half decent picture of them. They are still a bit shy and like to hide between the plants, the filter and everything else you can imagine

It was a real find. Normally the shops here don't carry much interesting. But one of them is a fish fanatic and has started to import directly from Colombia so has now different fish. He says they even offer B. imbellis, a fish I would love to have!
