Hi Everyone,

Today i noticed i have this kinda white spot in my sand which looks to be glowing but, if you look closely it looks like white hair around it. I feed my betta pellets so, maybe its just an uneaten pellet which is starting to rotten?

I also have nerite snails so, maybe it was an egg but, not sure.. I'm thinking maybe it was from uneaten food which is now rotting. I usually make sure he eats what i put in but, must of missed it.

Any insight would be great.

Thanks for everyone's help.

The white fluffy stuff is Saprolegnia fungus and grows on dead stuff and infertile fish eggs in aquariums.

The yellow ball that the fungus is growing on could be a fish pellet or an egg. However, if you only have a male Betta in the tank, it won't be an egg.
