Hi all,

What is the best way to treat white spot?

I have treated this problem before but it keeps comming back , but its only the black molly that gets is .

Any ideas.

Can you describe the whitespot it should look like a grain of salt, or like they have been sprinkled in salt.

If the molly keeps getting it something is wrong.
What else is in the tank ? What are you water stats ? Temp ? PH ? Do you add salt ?

Do you treat even after the whitespot is no longer visible ?

I have 2 mollys, 1 plec, a cory, 2 tiger barms, 3 clown loaches, red tailed shark, a crayfish, 3 zebra dainos, and 2 other catfish i not sure what they are. 4 apple snails and 15 trumpet snails.

water stats are

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 40.
ph 7.5
temp 26
No salt dont think my cory can handle it .

I usually give it a couple of day of treatment when the white spot goes, and take out my carbon.

What do you recommend using ? will it effect my bio filter?

How many gallons is the tank.
Turn temp up to 30 increase aeration with the high temp and med.
Remove black carbon.
Treat for another week once spots have disappeared.

My tank is 40 gallons

I have removed the carbon and added interpet white spot treatment. Turned the temperature of the tank up to 80. I think it may be to late for on of the mollies he/she is covered in white spot for the 3rd time. This time im going to give them a weeks treatment after the white spot has vanished. All the other fish seem o.k.

Any other ideas?
