Hello,
This is a question in regards of my dad's tank. I don't know anything about tanks but I have noticed this white molly is getting larger, could she be expecting? I've been looking but haven't noticed any black spots near her belly yet but my dad said he saw one. I don't know really what to look for since we've never had fish before. There is male mollies in the tank with her. Thanks in advance. I figured she's either really fat or about ready to pop!

Thanks!

She looks pregnant to me. I would recommend you have a seperate tank for the fry. (Or well tell your dad)

OOps I posted the same picture when I meant to post the second, sorry about that:

looks likes she ready to pop or bloated you could put her in a breeder or seperate tank or leave her in there and let nature take its course.

Yes she does poop a lot, but then she's also been having behavior that an expecting Molly would have like hanging out near the heater and moving slow especially when she's near the heater, and she's been like this for perhaps less than a month now.

If you put her in a breeder tank, then you need to be sure that are able to rehome the fry when they mature. Mollies, like all livebearers, reproduce like mad, they have 30ish fry roughly once a month. If you can't find homes for them all, you'll soon be overrun with them.

True to what TLM said, but maybe sell them to the local store? I don't know if that would be an option?

Told my dad everything this morning, he's put her in another tank and he's now betting that the white molly will give birth they same time Kate Middelton does.

Yeah...

More pictures just to get more thoughts and advice today, she's really hanging out on the bottom.

If you can sell them, you will be VERY lucky. Some LFS will take them off your hands, but won't give you anything for them, fewer still will give you store credit. TO find one that will pay you cash is incredibly rare. Most stores won't even take them. They have their trusted suppliers, who sell them livebearers very cheaply, who the LFS know are likely to have nice healthy tanks. On the other hand, your LFS will just about remember you as an occasional customer, but doesn't have the faintest idea about how healthy your tanks are. Why risk the health of your shop?

Thats why i asked if that could be an option. Where i live i supply the local store with most of their livebreeders. Especially guppies and mollies. Otherwise they probably wouldn't even sell those here. But i know its not the case in other places. But idk you can always try. But yeah if not you will end up with lots of fish.

Yeah she does look less. They are furry things floating in the tank today. But I'm just going to keep a watch on her.

Otherwise dad's lost his mind. He goes. "When the babies come you scoop them up right away and transfer them into another tank." Oh yeah...right dad, I told him a million times you don't do that.
