as you can see theres some white fuzz growing on the side of this fish, I've read that it could be treated with a salt water quarantine or it could be fungus. can anybody confirm exactly what this is? ive noticed it just today it doesnt seem too old
update, i netted her to put in a hospital tank and she indeed had been injured somehow, the fungus had gotten caught in the net. is there anything to do about this?White fuzz almost always corresponds to a fungal infection. But fungal infections are most often secondary to a previous injury or infection, so it will be valuable to consider previous observations/history prior to the fuzz. Salt and very clean water will help, but an anti fungal may be needed. Depending on where you are (country) the optinos will vary. Hopefully other will weight in to complement my suspicion. Good luck.
thank you, unfortunately she died very soon after this picture in the salted hospital tank, one tbsp per 2 gallons of aquarium salt.. very quick death which somewhat confuses me, water temps are both the same so she shouldnt have went through any shockSalt treatment would help a lot. Also to close the open skin by creating new mucus on its body.
