White Algae / Fungus

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help. Over the last 2 weeks white slimey algae / fungus has started growing on the plastic parts of my heater. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of it? I've cleaned the heater 3 times on the last 2 weeks but it keeps growing back.

Got any pictures? Any chance something could be spawning on it? If not could just be bacteria, it happens a lot on new wood in aquariums.
