i have just set up a 4ft planted tank everything is fine and have 6 angelfish in it thats all who all seem fine ..
the tank has been set up about 1 and half months when should i add plecs and which kind
i dont want the common plecs that just grow and grow was thinking about bristlenose plecs but would they destroy my plants and if no how many would u recommend in my tank juwel rio 300

Is the tank 300l? If so I think you're already overstocked with angels. I suggest 2 unless tjere all babies and you plan to sell the rest.

As for plecos. Bristlenose is fine but don't go past two. They prefer being anlone.

yeah just have 6 baby angelfish in the tank at the moment no bigger than a ten pence piece body that is

That's fine, Most people do this to work out pairs. Once you get 2 angels that work well with each other I suggest you keep the two and sell the rest. You'll find as they grow older they'll start to nip and have a go at each other.

I like angels with a school of neon or cardinal tetras. My two juvenile angels pick on each other already and they are still very small. I second only having two Bristlenose Plecos.

ok thanks .i will also keep close eye on my angel fish i have been watching alot and so far just all swimming about together but will watch

Hmm i'd be carefull angels are predatory and can feast on tetras - i always study the fish by googling it before i get them as it will tell you the temperaments and suitability - i wouldn't really call angel fish community fish

Any shoaling fish - larger tetras, like cardinals, glowlights, rummynose or harlequin rasboras, danios, pentazona barbs etc would all be good tank mates for your angels.

Back to the question in hand, there are plenty of plecs which would suit your tank. I have a 'blue phantom' plec who is particularly handsome, but I also like the green phantoms and snowball plecs. I also have a clown plec but he never comes out! There is a world of plecs out there, don't stick to bristlenoses if you have space in your tank for a more exciting type of plec, which you do! Syaing that I also have three BNs and they are fab, but don't just settle because they're easily available :)
