Which One Would You Choose?

OK so i have to choose between having a shoal of 6 Threadfin Rainbowfish or 6 Cardinal tetras

the fish that would be there tank mates are:

2 German Blue Ram Cichlids (1 male 1 female)
8 Rummy nose tetra
3 pitbull plecos
8 kuhli loaches
7 panda cory
3 honey gouramis (1 male 2 female)
6 harlequin rasbora

Which one would be better suited to the tank?
Which one in your experience do you prefer?

I'd go for the Cardinals. Love rainbows but Cardinals colour is hard to beat for a small schooler.

I would go for threadfin rainbows although like Jamepsss said cardinals are colourful.

I would actually take a different route and add more harlequins, or perhaps something like harlequins, Hengeli harlequins for example.

Harlequins offer both sides of the same coin, they're active and colourful, the more you have of them, the better they'll show it.

hmmm thats a good idea actually. i would really like one of the above but how many harlequins would you recommend if i did add some?

Same amount as the others, 6 or more.

Imagine a shoal of 6 for each species in your tank, it would look incredible!

Also, how big is your tank?
You might find you'll be fine to add more than 6, they're only small at the end of the day and having the fish happier is more important than a tiny bit more waste in the tank.

The hengeli's are quite small so a bigger shoal would be good,maybe 8-10 if your tank could handle it,or add 6 black harlequins,they're lush to go with your own bigger harlequins

yepp that is a good idea
should i add to the rummys too?
if i get some of the other Trigonostigma species will the other harlequins shoal with them?

oh and my tank is 55 gallon
