Which is the best choice for this 12 gallon tank?

- 1 platy, 2 harlequins, 2 gold barbs, 6 neon tetras, 6 kuhli loaches.
- 1 platy, 2 harlequins, 2 gold barbs, 6 neon tetras, 2 or 3 ghost shrimp.
- 1 platy, 2 harlequins, 2 gold barbs, 6 neon tetras, 2 dalmation molies.
- 1 platy, 2 harlequins, 2 gold barbs, 6 neon tetras, 3 guppies.

None of the above. Harlequins need to be in a minimum group of 6.

I wouldn't want to see harlequins in a tank that small personally. They can move at considerable speed when they want to so I'd recommened offering them more room.

out of that list maybe you could have

10 neon, 3 male guppy, 5 ghost shrimp.

Gold barbs are nippy. I would drop them from your otherwise peaceful tank. You will almost never see your kuhli loaches, it is just their nature to hide all the time. Much like almostawesome, I love rasboras and would up the number, but not to accommodate any schooling. They do not school. I am favoring the mollies but that reflects my own preferences. It really should be decided based on available tap water. Unless it is fairly hard and high in minerals, forget those mollies.
