yh the rckord 70 is 70 litres... the reckord 60 which i have is only 13gal so i should imagine thats about 20?

anyways not big enough for clown loaches, so neons or rummy noses... id go rummy noses personally

Vixen, sorry but I disagree. It's 18.5 gallons and as he's already heavily stocked, he should sort that out first before thinking about adding new fish. Esepcially as he only has 2 neons. Rummy Noses should also be kept 6 or more - he just does not have the space at all.

The tank you have needs thinning out. I would imagine the middle region is rather packed out. I would advise choosing your favourite shoaling fish and sticking with those and having a larger number rather than a few of lots of different types.

If you are not willing to rehome some of your fish (although IMO you definitely should) then you need to at least put another filter in there to cope with the load.

Your tank is already stocked to 4 times the maximum capacity. No amount of additional filters will prevent the massive biocrash you are facing. You will lose your fish unless you do something about the overcrowding now.

Okay, I thought it might help if fish weren't returned but you all know I am still fairly new to this so I am happy to admit I was wrong.

Seems your only option is to rehome a large portion of your fish. I know it won't be what you want to do but it will be for the best in the long run.

Apologies for giving wrong advice - what a fool I am!!!!!

Don't sell yourself short. Your idea is sound, more filtration will increase the capacity of the tank, but the tank is so massively overstocked nothing but removing fish can help.

I would suggest returning all of the tetras, harlequins and swordtails and get a decent school of the tetras (or harlequins) you like most. You could probably still keep the corys, depending on what type they are. Some corys get to 3 or 4 inches too though. I would definitely move the betta to another tank.

i think this could be a wind up guys there has been no resposne form orginal poster at all, i would have thought that they might have checked back by now.

Imo, we need to know about your tank before we can suggest. Size current inhabs, etc. But any way, clown loaches need 75 gallons of water, just to let you know, so before you add them make sure your tank is 75+gals...

I voted rummynose b/c i like the way they look! And if they are anything like their "cousin", the Neon Tetra, then they should put very little strain on the bio filter, and stay small. 1.5-2'' I think...

You obviously didn't bother to read the thread at all. All those things are answered in great & exact detail. Go back and read before asking questions that have already been answered - this thread isn't even that long.
