soooo ive had plenty of ghost shrimp laying around....my bichir all the sudden doesnt eat them lol. i put 1 in with my betta rhomulus, who resides in a 1.5 cube, and the next day the shrimp was gone! at first rhom got all pissed off and flared hardcore for a while then got bored with it.

so the next day i was looking for the shrimp and i couldnt find anything! its a clean tank..imagine a sand bottom cube with 1 rock in the middle, one small vallesneria, and one little flare of java moss.

a few days late i dropped another shrimp in...rhomulus didnt care at all. the next day, NO SHRIMP!! id like to have a shrimp live in there, but wouldnt care if he killed it. my only guess is he ate it? i couldnt see him being able to get the carapace (if shrimp have these??) into his mouth.

anybody come across this? anybody finding anything out about it? lol

sometimes i put ghost shrimp in my tanks just so i can wonder where they've gone.

They might be dieing and he is ripping them to pieces and the shell could be hiding under the plant. Otherwise they might be jumping out.

weve got about 6 shrimps with our breeding discus so imagine bare bottom one bit of slate and sponge filter when ever you look in there you can never see them but when u move the filter they jump off.if they are still alive :D when you next clean your filter look in there because they do like hiding in there i have to look carefully when cleaning mine as i normally get loads of shrimp out of there last time there was tones of babys in there which are hard to get out lol if they aint in there they could be hidding somewhere in the tank either that like somone stated they could of jumped out,if you want to keep shrimps in there put a few more plants in there so theyve got somewhere to hide hope this helps
