Where Do You Prefer To Purchase Your Bettas?

I like to buy from Ebay, LFS and Aquabid. Aquabid does cost more and the fish are stunning.

How can you see if the seller is from UK on Aquabid?

There are not any from the Uk. I also buy from Either Ram_91 or RainyBetta and they use the German Transhipper.

Although If you want to risk it they can send direct via EMS, but you run the risk of the fish being impounded by customs and getting fined.

Ram_91 is on Aquabid and Is working on Mainly Giant Bettas which tend to start at £90+.
As with Ebay you should check the ratings of the seller to see the feedback they have received.

There is also thebettalady (google her) from the Uk and she imports from thailand and other places.

Gill, do you import in bulk? I emailed the german trashipper and he said it was £100 to ship to the UK, for 1 betta or 100. SO it made it really uneconomical to buy small amounts.
I think bettas are so individual, I'd buy from whereever had the one I wanted (baring places with v.bad conditions)

Yes, he sent this scan of the shipping costs and when I questioned it, this was his reply

it is over 100 Euros, you have to add 19% VAT, I know it is much, but there is nothing I can do about that, those are TNTs prices, and they are the only company to ship legally to the UK.
To ship a Betta from Thailand to me is 5 US Dollars because it is a combined shipment with usually 150-200 Bettas (Thai Airways Aircargo).
If I ship 50 Bettas to UK it is still the same price and that would be just over 2 Euros shipping costs per Betta.
Another advantage is that the Bettas are shipped from my house straight to any address in the UK, no customs involved because I already dealt with customs and vet in Germany when the Bettas arrived.

Please let me know when kg is up and running again

Wow that is still expensive.

I was just going off what he has stated on his site, so I would just keep checking for updates on there.
