Where do platties get fat at?

This is gonna sound like a really goofy question but where do fish get fat at when they are pregnant??

One of my platties had gotten a lot larger than my other four and I am wondering if he/she could be preggo..

They get fat around the belly area

Check towards the back of the platy and see if you can see a gravid spot (dark patch towards the back of the platy - just before the tail) then she is more than likely pregnant.

If you didn't know this already, you should get her in a breeding trap before she gets too big, because that'll increase the chances of her aborting.

I think my platty is pregnant!! I'll try and get a picture up so you can judge for yourself. And I didn't know that so I will have to go buy one, thank you!!

My sunsets are like that too... Both male and female... I think you would need a closer picture for us to tell she is pregnant or not...

Is your plattie in the 40g in your sig. if so I would consider moving her to a bredding trap or new tank, because the current tank is well stocked and she and the young will be easy targets for harassing and eating (fry).
