Where Can I Buy?

i dont think so. i dont have the room lol.

i have a divided betta tank and a community tank. the guppies breed freely and its survival of the fittest. i dont have any extra tanks so probably wouldnt breed

What was meant was that an air pump would be needed to drive the sponge filter, but bettas dont need air stones because they can use their labyrinth organ.

As for a betta tank, if you look on ebay you can probably find a small tank (18inch or less) within a few miles from you for not very much, although you might have to go back and search over a few weeks to find what you're looking for.

And I second looking in pets at home - they are selling small tanks for £20-£30, they are kids ones so come with stickers and brightly coloured gravel etc, but also a filter so you wouldnt have to get one of those. Dont think they have heaters though as they are being sold as being suitable for goldfish (and 3 of them at that  :grr: )

Eww... Stickers!

Blue gravel to fit my bedroom i think.

Will look next time im out an about.

How much would the heater cost?

Where abouts are you located?
I have a Betta lifespace tank with white and blue lights with built in filter
So all you would need is decs and heater, It holds 16ltrs and its dimensions are....(will update when i find a tape measure)
Looking for £20 for it??

Def. get on ebay :good: If you go through the categories and get to tanks, select on the left, 'used' and within 10 or 25 miles of your postcode. There are always loads on and a 5gall below £25 will be easy to get. Might even have a heater or filter and some gravel/decs with it too. I've had 2 aqua 40's, one £20, one £12.50 and a 21l hex for £12.50 on ebay.
My first tank I bought for £80 new and I'd never do that again.
I really hope to upgrade to a large community tank next year and I will be straight on eBay for that too :D

A heater? If its a small heater like 25W or so (2nd hand) you can get it for around £6. If you want to keep costs down just buy a second hand one. :good:

I like the look of the Fluval Edge tank, google it. Seen it on one site for £78 and comes with a free heater. I know pets at home do it but I don't know how much they are asking for it.

Its a 23 ltr tank, including filter and 2 x 10w lights.

Apparently, they are not suitable for bettas, due to the surface area being 'covered' so there is not space between the waterline and lid for the tank to breathe.

someone has one in an edge, and apparently it goes to the square for air, so it could work, but maybe out of Knox's budget

If you can wait until Easter then car boot sales are one of the best places to find smaller tanks - I see literally at least 2 at every carboot ranging from about 5gal-20gal for under £30 (usually under £10) and often complete with filter/pump/light/heater - one of the best places to still get a real bargain.

carboot season is usually late march to october.

A few searches brings up
tank 1
