ebay is quite good, but you have to really look for bargains
they're all from hong kong etc.

Dont trust it

and theres one going for £5.

But I Dont trust that kind of bargin :/

if its not right when you go get it, dont buy it, walk away youre well in your rights as a buyer to do so :good:
Very tempting..

i want a haflmoon but scared it will die like the LFS betta's do :(

and i don want a incident witch betta had :-(

For what you're wanting, E-bay is probly your best bet.

I got a 25lt tank from a lfs for about £20, then your talking heater 25w About £15, sponge filter around £3 to 5, air pump (Wilkinsons do do 1 for I think £5.99). Then you've got the lights and ballast on top of that don't know what prices they are at the mo.

Have a look at "pets at home" not the online site cause it's not listed, but from memory they are selling ones with lights and a good hood , don't know about the heater though. I have looked at them myself and it's in my wish list any how.

I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know whats in the deal and how much.

Thanks Mate :good:

Also i thought betta's dont need air pumps?

becauseof the special lung they have to get fresh air from the surface?

but i plano n keeping a few cherrys / snails.

so yea... a air pump is needed
tell me what you find thanks :good:

air pump isnt a good idea in a betta tank IMO. mine both got thrown around like nobodies business

i would still say ebay, and i had a look at the tank in question, it looks ok to me.

P@H are doing "kids" tanks under £20 atm, they may be worthlooking at

whats the MAXIMUM you can do on a tank? as there is a guy local to me selling a rio 180 for £70. but no heater or filter though

No bettas don't realy need filteration, and many people go with this reason not to get a filter, which I peronally think is a bad idea. If you have a filter you can cut down on water canges, IE: from daily to weekly (depening on whats in the tank with them).

Air pump isnt any good? Well how the hell are you to use a sponge filter then? plus you can buy valves to add in the air line to reduces the flow of the air, so reduces the water flow.

Haych, I think you have got mixed up some on sponge filters.

pump can be gotten cheaply if you know where to look. ex700 i managed to get for £20 delivered but no media, yet i got an ex1200 for £30 collected WITH media.

but if you have it as a community tank you could have an internal fluval which i think are really good.

heater, dunno. i had to pay £18 from a shop

he didnt say sponge filter, just air pump.

on my betta tank i use a tetratec ex1200 with spray bar, if not i was going to use a fluval with added spray bar, so no need for air pump.

i personally dont like sponge filters.

Sorry Haych, didn't see that bit.

So you don't like sponge filters then Haych, so you never plan to breed bettas then, or any other fish?
