Whats Wrong With My Neon?

They aren't labored breathing anymore, all they do now is sit at the bottom and stare out the glass and hover in place. I take some readings soon. Their colors are still faded out.

Sorry for the late reply, they usually sit at the bottom and do nothing until I feed them then they eat then two chase the rest around and their color is still faded away.

Right not good, try a parasite med nothing to lose.

Except my mom won't let me buy the medicine because it will cost more than the fish. I'll work on convincing her or try and get it somehow.

Don't mean to sound awful but if you cannot afford the meds you shouldn't really be keeping the fish, i know it's not a cheap hobby, and some meds are not that expensive, anyway good luck.

O it's not a matter if I can afford them or not, it's rather my parents think I spend too much money on my fish and paintball and my mom thinks that if the fish die that you should just buy some more instead since the fish are cheaper than the meds, it's just their way of thinking. Since I pay for everything myself and a lot of times she has to come with me since I can't ride my bike that far and I'm not old enough to drive she sees how much I spend and yes since fish aren't cheap she thinks I spend too much.

my mom is that way, too, except she's not as severe. she just wants me to take things slowly so i don't spend too much money at one time or anything. i think she's just being a mother though. she's also rather cautious when i say i need meds or something, until i explain to her the reasonings and such. as long as i do my research and have justification she's fine with it.

your parents seem a little harsh though. good luck with everything!

Well there not that bad, it's just between paintball and fish i guess i spend a fair amount of money. There just being good parents and want me to make sure I'm saving money and puting money aside for college because they want me to help pay for some of it.

The neons are the same in case anybody wanted to know.

There really weird too, they play for awhile then they just sit and do nothing. How long does most medicine last? I might buy some medicine once I start reffing and making money again and just store it in case my fish get sick I'll have medicine if it lasts long enough.

If it is ntd there no cure anyway, any signs of flicking and rubbing on objects.

One has no color now, his body is bloated and his eyes are popping out. I've been away for a week so I don't know what happened over that time. Is this ntd or like pop eye or something, it doesn't look like bloat?

Sadly yes they can get dropsy and popeye on top, mine got popeye, i would destroy the fish sorry.
