What's Wrong With My Fish!?

Hi all!
I haven't been around for a while, but there's something wrong with some of the fish in my 64L.
Half of them are fine, they swim around like normal. However, the other half can usually be found at the surface and with their dorsal fins down, one or two of them sometimes clamped. The only other symptoms I can see are white, stringy poo, but that's only from one of my older platies, and one of the baby platies has a bit of fungus on her head, but she swims around like normal.
The water parameters are...
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrate: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm

Anyone got any ideas what's wrong with them?

what fish do you have? and what fish are healthy? can you also tell me the temp of your tank

It looks like you're not cycled. How long have you had your tank set up, and what kind of test are you using?

I know the OP has had this tank for quite some time so I believe it's cycled. And TBH the symptoms you are listing sounds like an internal parasite

It's rare a cycled tank would show 0 nitrate, so either you have a cycling problem or a dodgy test.

How often are you doing water changes at the moment?

The reason I said that is because there are no measurable nitrates, which indicates a filter that isn't cycled. And the swimming around the top and clamped fins suggests ammonia poisoning.

Then there's the stringy poo, and yet another with fungus. The whole thing sounds like trouble.

I'd actually start out with a nice big water change and then try to make other determinations.

Tank has been cycled for around a year now. Swapped out a sponge filter for a carbon one last night, but I don't know if the makes any difference. It's also heavily planted, so that could be the cause of no nitrates?

All the fish are seeming fine this morning, but will do a big w/c later anyway just in case. :good:
