What's With All The Bots?

Noticed a lot of 'new members' recently posting strange things like 'much appreciated' and 'lol' and other short messages which are totally irrelevant to the post. I assume they are bots, but why and what are they after?!

It appears to be advertising, really poorly set up, for some sort of medical deal. As they are seen they are banned, posts pulled as they are found.

Can't be good advertising as I couldn't work out what the purpose was at all - maybe because I use the mobile site. Very odd!

And thanks LucyB, I need to get new pics up now as my external filter takes up far less space and keeps the water so much clearer
