they dont look especially blue to me lol unless theyre going to turn blue...I would have though golden wonder but the pattern puts me off, killis arent widely seen in shops around here

So far as I know most panchax are similar but with different sizes. Though I think some are more predatory than others, there is quite a lot of info on killis on the net maybe a quick google?

Ive been trying to google them but im just getting confused lol :S

ill do teh rounds again

ill give you a hand :) I want some panchax for my tank now as well :)

That's what I'm here for, folks to bother me
great terminology and a great find £4.99 is a pretty good price for one of the more scarce Aplocheliadae sp.
Next time your in your LFS inquire where abouts they were sourced,
wild import or otherwise.

Steel Blue Aphyosemions is an old generalized nomenclature for what is now called
Fundulopanchax gardneri nigerianus species and sub species
There are many different locations for this West Africian Killifish.
The best / most colourful ones IMO to look out for are;

Fp. gar. nigerianus Jos Plateau
Fp. gar. nigerianus Makurdi
Fp. gar. nigerianus Misaje
Fp. gar. nigerianus P82
Fp. gar. nigerianus Rayfield

They are pretty easy to come by as they are probably the most common available at the LFS (local breeders will usually supply the LFS from time to time).
Expect to pay around £6-£8 per pair.
See my thread for more details on their general husbandry.

You claim you work at Maidenhead Aquatics.
Get your boss to ring Andrew Gabbutt (fellow BKA member) at Maidenhead Aquatics in St Albans he will surely be able to help you attain these.

As I have found with my tank.... their colours tend to not show as much when they are young. Depending on the cleanliness and size of your tank, their colours and shape will look more and more vivid as they get older and grow...! From what I know of, fish can get bigger if you have a larger tank and/or how many tank mates you have altogether... :)
