But too much dechlorinator could be harmful to your fish.

Again I must start with to my knowledge as I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can overdose by a very very very long way before it becomes harmful to your fish. Its recommended if you know your water company are adding more chlorine to your water in summer months etc.

All my tanks and water changes are overdosed on de-chlorinater. It because I'm paranoid, and despite 1 pipette of King British Safe Guard treating 9 litres, I always think my bucket is more than 9 litres (it's probably nearer 4 litres), or that my pipette isn't quite full.
