Hi everyone, just wondering is there a forum standard to give measurements in US or UK gallons?

Confuses me. I would prefer people to use litres.

Top bar on the page, you should notice a little tab that says Calculator. Is this the type of thing your referring too?

Or do you mean what is the standard way of talking about the volume of your tank on the forum to others, if so then its whatever you use in general. The site is Global, and thus there are members from every corner of the World using and viewing all the topics, and subsequently using different measurement systems.

Personally i use Litres/UK gallons.

I guessed as much I'll stick to litres then as its universal, thanks

Same here, gallons seems kinda outdated to me anyway I find litres much easier to work with in any situation

For tank size, I prefer to see dimensions, as volumes mean little unless one is talking about "standard" sized tanks (which varies from country to country anyway) and it is often the bottom area, length, height or territory area that matter for stocking.

To measure volume, I like to see litres being used, but if I am using gallons for someone who is not familiar with litres, I specify what type of gallons they are, and usually post both anyway.

Litres confuse the Yanks - you'll never please all the people all the time - so long as you say what measurement you're using, those who use something else will just have to a mental conversion. :good:
