Whats The Most You Paid For A Single Fish?

$100 for three L200s, then $10 for my puffer :D i'm typically pretty cheap, but the plecs were my big reward for winning a contest... eventually i intend to sell one or more for $35-$45, but that's still a ways off (no one in AL spends that kind of money on freshwater fish!)

i think i've got about $1800 sunk into my tanks, all told... although i'm also about to purchase my first canister filter for the 20g; i intend to get something rated for the 60g so that i can switch things up a bit once i move on to grad school. so who knows what kinds of costs that's going to add...

most expensive fish would have been my bristlenose pleco which was $20australian. i have no idea how much i would have spent on my whole tank though...i dont really want to know lol

The most Ive ever paid for a fish was $6 for a small common pleco. The most Ive ever spent on an aquatic animal was $16 for 2 small Electric Blue Crayfish.(Actually the most Ive ever spent on any animal was $16 for the crayfish since I got my cat for $10  I just realized that)

Ive spent 35 on discus prolly more

as for my tanks... i used to keep EVERY recipt that i spent money on everything including my fish tanks.. after awhile it got depressing because of the money so i stopped..

im guessing all together easily over 1,500 USD *im 15 yrs old!*

Most expensive fish:

L-200 $90 Cdn
L-134 $80 Cdn

Thats only like.... uhmmm... carry the four... square route of X..

About 30 british pounds or so maybe 40 to 90 canadian dollars. Probably 35...

I just paid $40 each for a trio of Betta albimarginata that should be arriving sometime soon... I just keep telling myself I can sell the babies when they breed so I feel better about the money :p

Where did you find panda's for $3??? I did see them for $8.99 a few days later at a different store :grr: but no where THAT cheap!

oh and btw.. i'm not a 'dude' ;)

It strikes me that relative to all the other money we spend to keep them... and all of the happiness they give us... fish are really cheap. Even our expensive ones.

Just a little perspective.

No idea, but would be very cheap... until I get the discus, that is...!
Actually, i think it would be better for the hobby generally if fish were a LOT more expensive and tanks/ equipment cost less.
Will never happen, of course, but if tetra's or guppies cost £10 each and wouldn't breed easilyI bet people would take way better care of them... ie CHANGE SOME WATER.
