Hey everyone!

Got my new Tropiquarium 68 cycleing.
3 days ago I added 5 Frozen Prawns like I was told to by a member on the forum.
Anyway I have the temp at a stable 26C and the prawns are going abit fuzzy lol.

Ammonia test this morning showed 0.6 Ammonia.
Wondering what I need to look out for?
Also what should I be doing now? and whats next?

Ewww...I would've just put ammonia in. Then I wouldn't have to look at rotting creature on the bottom of the tank. Not sure how long you would leave them there.

Eventually you'll see ammonia really skyrockett and then it'll drop and nitrites will show skyrockett and then drop off at which point you'll start seeing loads of nitrate.

I would guess you remove prawns when there's no reading of ammonia or nitrite. Then you'd do a huge water change to drop the nitrates to a better level..preferably below 40ppm...and then get your fish :)

I've never done the prawn method but the cycle is still the same regardless.

Darn regulations. I'm getting tired of some. A few irresponsible people can ruin things for the rest of us, eh?!!
