What's It Like In The Bedroom..?

The only tanks I have in my room are my 2 gallon betta tanks (two of them) they dont require a large filter, so they are very quite. regardless of the sound, I think it's just nice to watch the fish as your laying down going to sleep....and if you are concerned about fish "watching" just cover them with a blanket

I have a 55 litre tank in our bedroom,has my 5 Zebra plecs in it.
Running an aqua one external filter on it,dont notice it at all.
Also has an eheim powerball with a diffusor on it,thats a bit noisier.

That's what I would like. I just stare at an empty tank and it makes menfall asleep Napoli thinking about what it would look like with my stock.

As others have said it depends on the filter - I use Aqueon filters and they have a nice insert that looks something like a stretched bioball across the output that diffuses the flow. Depending on the water level it is actually quite a relaxing noise and not too loud at all. There is a slight mechanical hum, but unless you are listening for it, it's not very noticeable.

Through my experience, it depends where you have the air pump since it vibrates, i like to put it on some type of foam so it doesn't make sound and i think the pump should be the biggest noise worry. I have had a 55 gal tank in my room and it didn't even bother me and other people that came into my room.

I have a 20 gallon tank in my bedroom. It has a box filter that's run by an old air pump. It's home these days to 3 bristlenose plecos, 5 C. virginae and a pair of guppies. Right now there is also a bunch of fry that I haven't got around to netting out yet.

I hear a mild hum from the pump and also the gurgling of the water from the filter. I used to have a small HOB filter and that sounded like a waterfall. Either way, it's a pleasant sound that will lull you to sleep at night.

I have my tank in my room. I like seeing my fish as much as I can :lol:

it kinda distracts me tho whenever Im doing something else. I have 120gallon in my room w/ 2 canister filters. Theyre really quiet, I used to have loud power filters, I can sleep regardless but I think I have better sleeps now w/ the canisters :nod:

I wouldnt put my tank anywhere else.

I hear strange noises @ night n a little bit of splashing sometimes as I sleep. I just pray no fish gets eaten then go back to sleep n check the next morning
