Personally, I'd set up a nice tank for a shoal of frontosa and try and breed them

I'm moving towards the end of summer and plan to have a custom 300-500 gallon tank built when I buy a house
I'm not 100% on your side in that statement. Have you ever seen a huge tank with 500 neons or cardinals in it. A couple of big angels and 50 corydoras crawling around the bottom. Giant bits of driftwood that need two people to put in the tank and huge areas of vallis and other plants spread throughout. The neons follow each other around, where one goes the rest follow. They move from one end of the tank to the other, drifting in and out between the plants. The whole school stretches out over 2 feet from the first fish to the last. Just below the surface 20 or 30 hatchetfish hang about under some marsh plants growing around the edges. Their eyes affixed on the freeze dried insects about to be dropped onto the surface. A male Apistogramma cactuoides displays to another that nears his territory. After chasing the intruder away he goes to check on his harem of little beauties. The neons drift past a large Amazon Sword that has over 200 leaves extending several feet up into the water column. On the far side of the sword plant a pair of Altum angels fan their latest batch of eggs.but i agree a big tank deserves big fish![]()

LOL. yeah but it would be a natural feeding cycle for a few minutesThen the big hungry silver aro eats 50 of the neons in one bite then another 70 in another bite then he feels like eating some thing more filling like a nice angel or two![]()
lol that would be terrible
I'm in the southern suburbs near Ferndale/ Thornlie. Ahh Swanbourne the old nudie beachColin, where about are you in Perth? I lived there twice, back in 1970-72,Dad was an Officer at Swanbourne, and 1994-1995 on Hay street about two blocks waca side of royal mint. Loved it, so laid back.
sounds really cool. Now you just have to keep the tank clear longtermOne things for sure, I will hook up 2-3 Teratec 1200's for it ,as Ive just connected one on my 100gl, wow, its been 2 days now, this may sound bizaare, but you cant see the water at all, its that clear!!![]()
