but i agree a big tank deserves big fish :good:
I'm not 100% on your side in that statement. Have you ever seen a huge tank with 500 neons or cardinals in it. A couple of big angels and 50 corydoras crawling around the bottom. Giant bits of driftwood that need two people to put in the tank and huge areas of vallis and other plants spread throughout. The neons follow each other around, where one goes the rest follow. They move from one end of the tank to the other, drifting in and out between the plants. The whole school stretches out over 2 feet from the first fish to the last. Just below the surface 20 or 30 hatchetfish hang about under some marsh plants growing around the edges. Their eyes affixed on the freeze dried insects about to be dropped onto the surface. A male Apistogramma cactuoides displays to another that nears his territory. After chasing the intruder away he goes to check on his harem of little beauties. The neons drift past a large Amazon Sword that has over 200 leaves extending several feet up into the water column. On the far side of the sword plant a pair of Altum angels fan their latest batch of eggs.

... or an arowana!!

Then the big hungry silver aro eats 50 of the neons in one bite then another 70 in another bite then he feels like eating some thing more filling like a nice angel or two :hyper:
lol that would be terrible

I'm in the southern suburbs near Ferndale/ Thornlie. Ahh Swanbourne the old nudie beach :)
Yep Perth is so layed back you can commit crimes and the Police can't do anything about it. Stupid government softening the laws so crims can do whatever they want.

sounds really cool. Now you just have to keep the tank clear longterm :)

wow, things have changed,

it used to be the police committing the crimes!! :D

It used to be that way but now we have the Police Service, not the Police Force. Note, Force vs Service.
Now the cops get the stuffing kicked out of them by the bad guys and the courts don't do a damn thing. The state gov is p iss weak and won't toughen up the penalties for fear they will end up in jail for their own inappropriate misdoings.
A classic example was last week when a bunch of drunks had a punch up outside a copshop. The boys in blue went out to intervene and now one of the cops has brain damage and is in a coma. The guys that caused the fight were charged by the police but let off by the courts. We lose a cop and the baddies get a pat on the back. It's total and utter crap.
Everyone wants the crime to go away but the cop's hands are tied. They catch them and charge them, the courts let them back out, and the politicians twiddle their thumbs while talking about what they had for dinner last night. The system is a waste of tax payers money and needs an overhaul.

Sorry not impressed with the government lately. They are giving themselves big fat pay rises but won't give the police, nurses or teachers a small payrise. They let their kids drive official government vehicles and the kids get caught doing burnouts and the police aren't allowed to charge the kids. We have a corrupt health minister that paid his mate in excess of $600,000pa (for several years) to oversee the public health system and the guy did a lousy job. He rorted the system and wasted millions and we have people dieing in hospital waiting rooms. We have a minister for local government who claims they have no power or authority to do anything about local government (councils). The system is falling apart. Half the ministers associate with undesirables and won't resign when found out. And the Premier won't sack them.
Hell I'm contemplating moving to New Guinea or Indonesia, the government is less corrupt there than it is here.

Strewth!! I didn't realize it was that bad!!

Ive been living here in the UK,but would much rather be back home.Australia aint called the lucky Country for nothing and basically i reckon we should send the trouble makers back to the uk. Maybe National Service would be a good thing for those on the dole for no good reason.

The other thing is that over here there is such a problem with drinking where it causes so many problems for the emergencey services,so i reckon that anyone who is attended to for being over a perscribed level should PAY for the treatment/police time etc, but charge them on a rising scale, say £300 first offence.£500 2nd and then £2000 each time after,If they dont pay the authorities should have the power to take the money from employers and to stop benifits and reposses property etc.

The UK is benifit heaven,no objections to those who genuinely need it. Australia has its fair share of bludgers too.

getting down from my soapbox now,

Actually most of the trouble is caused by people that work. We currently have a really low unemployment level and most people have a full or parttime job. Many people even have several jobs. The mines are making some people rich and unfortunately a lot of these people are too stupid to be rich. They spend their money on fast cars, alcohol and big screen TVs.
Over 75% of Police call outs are alcohol related.

Every Friday and Saturday night the hospital emergency rooms fill up with drunks or drugged out teens who have overdosed or are just trippin out. Nurses and doctors get threatened and the Police have an almost continual presence at the hospitals. This means there are less Police on the streets or responding to call outs in the suburbs.

That's an interesting idea of making the drunks pay for the wasted time. I can't see the politicians going for it tho. I would like the speeding fines and other traffic penalties to be based on annual income. That way the rich pay more overall but it is the same percentage as the poor. There are so many people with too much money and they just flout the law. The buy their way out of trouble. On the other hand the poor people currently have to pay the same amounts and they can't afford to so they lose their license. Then the next time they are caught they go to jail.
The great divide between rich and poor is destroying the state.
