Unless these are the feeder gold fish that are like .10 each, you need to rehome alot of your fish. Do you have a water test kit to test for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? If so, what are the readings? If not, add that to your shopping list.
Honestly, I would never try to keep fish that I wanted long term with feeder fish. They are very prone to disease. Just look at the tank they come from. Fish can spread illnesses just like humans can.

First of all, a mature chineese algae eater will kill other fish by eating their slime coats. Secondly, a chineese algae eater can get up to 10", so a 10 gal tank is way too small for them.
