What To Feed Ottos

I've got 1 otto, would like to get a few more but want to make sure I'm feeding him right before I add anymore.
I don't think there's not much algae in the tank and just read on another thread not to rely on natural algae growth for them to feed on. I've tried algae wafers but he's not interested, they just get eaten by the shrimps. I've tried cucumber but again not interested. Anything else I can try or is he ok just on any algae growing in the tank?

if you can see him eating the algae and he's seen the other things like cucumber and algae wafers. id say it might just be his personal preference?

Mine like courgette slices that have been microwaved in water for 30 seconds. Don't tend to eat them the day I put it in the tank, but I leave it in and it they tuck in once it softens a bit more.

They're grazers so come and go off it as they please, rather than wolf it down because it's there.

I don't bother with algae wafers but do feed sinking tablet food designed for all fish, they like those too.

My oto's don't bother with anything other than the natural algae. I've tried cucumber and algae wafers and the sinking pellets but they're just not interested.

Mine tend to spend their time sat munching the algae on my large rocks and ornaments - and of course, the glass. Sometimes I see them sat on the plant leaves but not often.

Someone gave a good tip once, might have been on here. Get some stones and place them in water on a window sill until they algae up. then place them in the tank as a food source for the little guys. Whilst they are in the tank, other stones can be in the windowsill tub getting ready. Rotate stones as required
