What To Do With Kuhli Loach

I recently gave away some of my fish from my 6 gallon tank to start up a dwarf puffer / otto tank. Apparently when I was taking out the fish I missed one kuhli loach. He is pretty small, and now is alone. I am going to attempt to get in touch with the person who took the rest of my fish to see if she would like to pick him up as well, but if not I am left with the following options...

Put it in the 2.5 hex betta tank with my betta who has been alone for over a year now

Leave it in the dwarf puffer tank (mixed thoughts on their compatibility over the internet)

Leave it in the dwarf puffer tank and get it a couple friends

I will most likely try to get rid of it some how, but if I am stuck with it which option would be the best?

Check the chemistry requirements for your puffer. Most puffers require somewhat brackish water as they mature, which would make a puffer tank a poor choice for a khuli. The khuli will require straight fresh water with no salt added. Either the puffers or the khuli would end up suffering due to the differing water needs.

Indian dwarf puffers are strictly fresh water

Thanks for the info Shovelman. It is why I said to check the fish's chemistry requirements. None of us know the correct parameters for every fish out there.

I agree! Theres so many fish out there that live in such diverse conditions, which is one of the challenges(and joys in my opinion) us aquarists face when keeping fish.
