So I've dug out my little 3 gallon (11 Litre) which I was using as a temporary home for fry a while ago. Trouble is I want to use it now I've made the trouble to find it and made room. What could I use if for? Open to all suggestions! :good:

brine shrimp tank for lots of live brines to feed the fishies as am thinking of doing this with my old 5 gal

Yer I'm thinking of doing a mini Iwagumi, are there any fish that would be suited to a tank this small? I'm guessing probably not lol

Only one I'd say would be a betta. +2 on the planted shrimp tank idea. I'm making one myself actually. I'll link you my journal if you'd like to watch it progress, although mines an 8 gallon.

Would definitely like to see that journal :good:

I'm just getting started and won't really get started til about July 7th or 8th since I'm leaving for a week vacation on Friday. that's when I'll be ordering plants and such, adding sand and scaping it etc.

May be adding the sand and hardscape before I leave though.

There must be some little micro fish you could have in there with some shrimp (maybe something other than the standard cherries) that would suit the iwagumi style?

Yer thats what I'd love to know. I mean 5 neons would be a very big push, maybe cruel and I don't know of many other fish that are smaller than neons. Except fry of course.

The smallest fish I can think of is boraras brigittae (mosquito rasboras)

These look perfect I found the care guide and it says they should be ok in <5 gallon setups just gotta keep water pristine which I do anyway LOL Never seen these in LFS though might be an online job

Or maybe Galaxy rasporas? These are a little easier to get hold of LOL

Do you have a Maidenhead Aquatics nearby? Mine has both of those in pretty regularly but if your's doesn't have them they may order them for you?

Its about 20 miles away unfortunately, its a shame I've been a couple of times for a look around and its nice in there tons of fish compared to my LFS. I've got four to me that I use but to be honest I never looked for either of these fish in there. Will phone around tomorrow maybe and see.

Due to an unstable base I've had to move my Asia's Tree tank onto the floor, looks a bit rubbish there but I can't afford to fix thousands of pounds of water damage either so will have to compromise. Fortunately I've now got room to get my 25L back up and running. It's going to cost a fair bit to do though as I'll need to sort out some lighting, heater, substrate, plants, rocks etc. I'm also considering maybe a new filter for it too, one with a spray bar. Still thinking about it though at the moment.
