What the hell

I honestly don't see how that could actually work, most of what they claim it does is most likely lies to sell the item to gullable first time buyers. I don't see how lasers that mimic sunlight could do all this;

* Perfect for Fresh or Saltwater Fish!
* Improves the Color of Your Tropical Fish and Enhances Fin Growth!
* Increases the Life Span of Your Fish!
* Helps Reduce Bacteria and Infection by Purifying the Water!
* Increases the Incubation Rate of Eggs and Growth of Fry!
* Increases Disease Resistance!
* Creates an Aquarium Night Light of Unmatched Beauty!

The MiracleBeam™ Aquarium Laser System is the most revolutionary aquarium device in the world today. After years of testing on tropical fish (fresh and saltwater), the MiracleBeam™ Aquarium Laser System was developed to enhance the color, life span, disease resistance, and growth rate of all your tropical fish. The MiracleBeam™ Laser reproduces a spectrum of the Sun's natural light that is inherent in tropical and reef environments. The MiracleBeam™ Laser System should be left on 8 to 12 hours per day for maximum effectiveness. (May be left on continuously).

Fin growth? I doubt it, fins don't photosynthesize like leaves to grow.
Purify water? how? sunlight will just incourage bacteria to grow in your water and things like algae.
increase lifespan? I would imagine the light display is actually stressful for the fish and thus lowers their lifespan.
Deseases resistance? disease resistance is more to do with the fish's imune system than anything else, if it has a poor one its not going to get any healthier by laser beams...
etc etc.

If they actually bothered to put a filter, heater, stock the tank correctly and proper tank lighting, the fish will live for years. In their current situation, a couple of weeks max.

Doesn't the UK have laws against false advertising?
I dunno, but i doubt the goverment or police is going to care about a "life enhancing fish laser beam show" when they don't do a thing about dyed fish or the amount of cruelty seen in the fish trade....

The U.S. government is not big on enforcing the law against cruelty with dyed fish but this kind of advertising would get the company sued and shut down for sure. I wonder how many people would believe the outrageous claims in the first place though.

Odd seeing as this company is based in California and all the claims are replicated on their own website.

They're quoting a chinese study into the effects of lasers on aquatic life.

Can you prove it doesn't work? :kana:

I know that if I reported it to our local athorities, or anybody within my state they'd laugh and forget about it because we're having a government shut-down :crazy:

And me being in my ripe young age, I have no idea why :lol:
