What the hell is THAT??!!!

We have an Aussie Dam Yabby, yesterday we noticed she has WORMS!!! Ewww... just wondering if anyone can tell me what they are?
They are about 2mm long, quite fat for their length, white, with tiny tentacle things sticking out one end. They are coming out of the joints in her shell.
Are they going to do her any harm or are they just unsightly?
Off to the LFS this morning to get help but alternative opinions are appreciated

I don't know, but its got to be bad, pull out the crawdad and put in in another dish of water and cut the worms off. That should be a good temporary fix, Just MO though,

Problem solvered, LFS guy tells us that they are Hydra. We put the yabby i a salt bath and most of them just fell off. Still a few remaining, gonna giver her another salt bath (stronger) tomorrow probably which should deal with the tougher critters. LFS (and net) says they wont hurt her, just annoying!
