My parents won't let me have a large tank in my room nor 2 tanks, and we are converting the garage, so I took this as an oppertunaty to ask for a large tank, and I can have a £400 if I provide half the costs, so any suggestions?

id get a 75w/ hood=200,stand=100+,filter=50+.then find some work to do and put money on the side for ur tank

very nice mate!!just go for the biggest u can afford ive upgraded already after 3months lol

Only trouble is I have no idea what sort of fish i'm going to put in, i'm hoping to put my bristlenose plec in along with my dwarf puffer and i'm looking at a red tailed shark as bala sharks get way to big for that tank.

Hmmm I need help now, what do I do, buy the tank already suggested as above that comes only with the stand and tank or buy a Juwel Rio 300 for £500 that comes with filter and heater?

Go for your original tank, why ? because I don't like Juwel tanks, they come with those horrible fitted internal filters which alot of people just want to rip out after a while. The lids are just flimsy pieces of plastic and overall I don't like them. Your 1st choice looks a nice tank to me with a nice stand and with a good Eheim external filter will last you a long time, and your fish will be happy too.

theres a second hand tank at my lfs................7ft long 2ft high 3 ft deep............£230

I wouldn't have the space for that tank at the moment i'm strugling to perseuade my mum to let me have a tank thats only nearly 4ft long, trouble is because it's like a main room it's going in i've had to think about getting a nice looking tank, along with matching stand.
