ime hopefully getting either a 6ftby2ftby2ft
or a 7ftby2ftby2ft

ill probably be running a external
id like

1 oscar
1 common plec
6 silver dollers
now what other large fish that dont cost a bomb could i keep

would this be possible

1 oscar
1 common pleco
1 fire eal
1 birchir
6 silver dollors

yes that would definitely be possible.. with plenty of space to spare, at least in my opinion.

Fire Eels are so much fun. I had one and he would stick his head up out of the water and bob it up and down making a clicking noise. Mine was a super picky eater tho.

ok it looks like im looking to get a 6x2x2 so

1 could i stilll have
1 oscar
1 common pleco
1 fire eal
1 birchir
6 silver dollors

if so is there any more room i like big fish like

oscars and stuff

Hi I'm looking at a similar tank at the moment, is this one a standard bought one or a custom made one? If it is a custom made one I have decided to go 72x30x24 the extra 6 inch adds in 50 gallons which is quite a lot of water really.

Cant advise on your stocking as I know that oscars need a lot of room each and that could limit your total number of large fish in there I think most people say 75g for 1.

How about:

1 Oscar
3 Geophagus Surinamensis
6 Silver Dollars
1 Delhezi Bichir
1 Common Pleco
1 Fire Eel

or

1 Oscar
1 Severum
1 Anostomus
6 silver Dollars
3 hoplos
1 Delhezi Bichir
1 Royal pleco

Although personally i think the tank needs to be wider than 24" for a Fire eel

What about if you upped the number of SD's? You certainly have the room - imagine 10 SD's all lined up in a row! funny things...

I like both of Davo's suggestions, not sure which I'd go for. I love my sev, he's so entertaining, would a sev be outshined by an oscar though? If you had geos, the oscar would be more of a centre piece.

i havnt got a tank yet but im looking to get a 6-7ft by 2ftby2ft

if its gunna make the fire eal un comfy then ill leave him out

could i have

1 oscar
1 common pleco
6 silver dollers
1 ornate birchir
and a couple more suggestions as i wantjust 6 sd
1 o and deffinatly a common

How about trying either a Texas,Green Terror,Jack Dempsey or a Severum with the Oscar? or maybe some Convicts or Firemouths along with the other stuff you listed?

Or even trying a Jag instead of a Oscar?

deffinatly want the oscar and dont want a sev as i dont fancy having one even tho there buetiful

could i have

1 oscar
1 common plec
6 silver dollars
1 ornate birchir
1 black knife fish

If you can find a good sized BGK then yes the stocking should be fine.

Also what about a lima shovelnose?

not keen on the shoval nose

but could i have a 3-5inch aligator gar

if so could i do this eg start with these sizes

and would they be ok together

6 x 2inch silver dollars
1 x 6-8 inch common plec
1 x 4-5 inch oscar
1 x 3-5 inch ornate birchir

so like

6 x 2inch silver dollars
1 x 6-8 inch common plec
1 x 4-5 inch oscar
1 x 3-5 inch ornate birchir
1 x 3-5 inch aligator gar

or would they try to eat each other

All of your stocking plans are viable, so its up to you really. If you like big fish, how about a nice synspilus ? full grown it is a beautiful highly coloured fish and is usually peaceful to other fish (hates its own kind). I have a pair in with an Oscar, a carpinte, two female con's and various dither fish including spotted silver dollars, in a 6x2x2.

there very very nice

but i think if i can im gunna go with the fish list i had as its a similar stock to what my parents had in a big ttank when i was young
